Changes

Hi Everyone! I’m recording the new song “Strong for You” written by me and Doug Frasure for the documentary “Beyond the Myth”. I’m really excited about sharing it with everyone.

This means I am re-scheduling my date on WFIV in Knoxville April 7th. This date just worked out better for the other musicians participating in the recording and Joe at WFIV in Knoxville was, ofcourse, very understanding!
Please check out “Beyond the Myth” on Facebook!

Timing Is Everything

Four times today this phrase came up…seemingly out of nowhere. While the CD project is moving at a different speed than I anticipated, I do believe the timing will be just right and will make perfect sense. In the meantime, I hope you’ll catch one of my shows or listen on-line. I’m playing a benefit March 27th…for several Knoxville area animal charities. Visit www.causeforpawsknoxville.com . On April 7th @ 8PM I’ll be performing a live radio show for www.myi105.com/
That’s WFIV’s show “Homegrown”. The show will actually be performed on stage at Disc Makers.
I’ve had a wonderful time in Virginia and appreciate everyone so much who came out to my shows and made them really special for me. Looking forward to seeing everyone in Knoxville, playing and doing something to help animals in the area who are in need – along with supporting the PEOPLE who help animals! See You Soon!

Movie News – Well, it IS Oscar Time…

At the wrap party for "Love Don't Let Me Down"

At the wrap party for “Love Don’t Let Me Down” with Gwynth Paltrow
Recently, I was cast as one of the lead roles in a small independent musical drama. I’ve NEVER acted in my life. I’ve been in front of a camera for commercials, videos and while hosting a cable show for a short time - but I have NO acting experience. However…

…thankfully, my character is an artist trying to make a name in the music industry! Many of my original songs will be featured in the film. I won’t say much more for now…tell you why in a sec!!

The documentary “Beyond the Myth” by Libby Sherrill  http://www.facebook.com/home.php?#!/group.php?gid=58167521513&ref=ts   about breed specific legislation is  moving right along. Doug Frasure and I have written a song for the film, a sort of anthem called “Strong for You“.

Animals cannot speak up or defend themselves against cruelty and injustice (like many people, they suffer due to uninformed, preconceptions based on color, features, religion…”differences”, etc).

Buddy08

Many are unfairly portrayed in an often twisted media message -This song is about defending them and will be available sometime in May to help sponsor the movie.

Back to why I don’t want to say much about the musical: If you’ve followed me for the past year or so then you know I was the flagship artist for a TV show pilot called “Songwriters USA” (a sort of American Idol for writers).

Mentoring Session with Jewel

I was mentored by Jewel, followed with cameras, interviewed at length, friends were interviewed. I loved Miranda Cohen – FOX Entertainment Reporter at the time of filming and hired as part of the show (now with StorySource). She was awesome.

The whole experience was a BLAST!!! But, I‘ve been answering questions for a while about “whatever happened with that TV thing”, and wondered if I said too much too soon(?)

I don’t believe I can “jinx” things – I’m just walking that line  between sharing exciting news while knowing that not EVERY opportunity turns into a Grammy…or an Oscar.

I am shopping for a dress to wear to my first Red Carpet event though.

So, I am not in a movie with Gwynth Paltrow but my sweetie, Doug Frasure has been cast as her drummer in the new movie “Love Don’t Let me Down”!

11 O’Clock Rock Live Internet Feb. 25th

11 O'Clock Rock

On February 25th, Thursday, I’ll be the featured artist on the 11 O’Clock Rock Show (at 11AM). This hour show will include original song performances and an interview about updates in my career and causes I am involved in (one being “Beyond the Myth” which can be found on Facebook). I hope to keep you on the edge of your seat… : ) Looking forward to it!

Benefits and Shows

In addition to performing at many of my favorite venues and some new ones, I’m really excited to have the opportunity to participate in some great causes.  January 31, 2010. I’ll be performing two shows at Austin Peay University for Visitation Hospital in Haiti, sponsored by Austin Peay, the City of Clarksville and 100.3FM and Five Star Radio Group. I also have an upcoming performance for the American Cancer Society sponsored by “Bikers Who Care”.  Much thanks to the people who put these events together and provide a way for us to give!

I also want to tell you about a new documentary called “Beyond the Myth” which addresses breed specific legislation as it relates to pit bulls (and dogs that even resemble pit bulls) and the way the media can sway public opinion. This is an important film taking a balanced look at the media’s impact on public perception over history. I will have a song in the movie and be as involved as I can in promoting it! Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays

Merry Christmas and Happy HolidaysWishing all of you a wonderful, safe Christmas and holiday season.

I try not to get overwhelmed with the obligations and remember what this time of year is about. It can be a little stressful to consider all the people you care about at one time and sufficiently letting them know!

I’m great at shopping for myself…I know what I like. It’s a challenge to really focus attention on others – but very rewarding to see them light up just because they were thought of through the gesture of a gift.

SO…January 6th I’m headed back to Mackinaw Harvest Music to do some more work on Comin’ On Strong” with my producer, Michael Crittenden. Can’t wait to see him and get creative!!! Hopefully we’ll take another trip to Los Angeles to work with Brian Malouf as we complete the project.

Again, have a wonderful holiday! Can’t wait to give you good news that the CD is ready to go!

Thank you all for hanging in there with me and being so supportive during this process - also, looking forward to seeing you at a show soon. Go to www.myspace.com/kimberclevelandmusic  for my calendar. Also, scroll down this page for previous posts and photos.

Testing…Testing…

So there are a few kinks with the new web-site when some people log on. If that’s the case for you, I apologize and we’re getting it all worked out!

My calendar is up to date at myspace.com/kimberclevelandmusic
If you are unable to seePink2 my press kit by clicking “kimber” at the top of the   page  next to the video or you cannot view  the “Sorry” video by clicking just below that, those things can be viewed at myspace and on my facebook page.

Check back soon!

Release Date For “Comin’ On Strong”

Kimber Photoshoot 10-11 0923The last few months have been amazing and I’m overwhelmed by the kindness and generosity of people who have stepped up to promote, sacrifice and encourage me musically. There are too many people to thank for making my life wonderful and for helping me continue writing, recording and performing.

Thanks to everyone for coming out to shows, buying CDs and t-shirts and supporting me. I appreciate you so much!

The next few months my producers, Michael Crittenden, Doug Frasure and I will be focused on finishing up “Comin’ On Strong”. Producer, Joe West (Gasoline Productions, Inc) and his partner David Pahanish are co-writers on my song “Face to Face” and Gasoline Productions Inc. is mixing and engineering it. They recently wrote and produced a #1 song for Toby Keith and another #1 with Jimmy Wayne.

The plan is also to get to Los Angeles soon to work with Brian Malouf again who has engineered several of the songs on “Comin’ on Strong” and is definitely a hero of mine.

So the fall 2009 date of completion is being moved to the begininning of February 2010. Schedules change; unexpected things happen…I believe the timing will be just right.

Thanks for checking in!

Hello World – My New Web-Site

It’s great to be here – even with a place on Facebook, myspace, twitter, etc… Thank you for stopping by to check out my web-site!! I really appreciate you and hope you’ll visit often.

My new project, “Comin’ On Strong”  should be ready to go sometime in December 2009 - the  completion of almost a year of lots of hard work, fun, frustration, creative fulfillment, anticipation…etc..etc.. I’ve heard statements about how difficult it must for an artist in this industry - but I can’t imagine doing anything else!

Recording “Comin’ on Strong” and the past year of playing live have been awesome.  I can’t wait to get this music out and I hope you love it!!

I have a lot of shows coming up so check out my calendar at www.myspace.com/kimberclevelandmusic …moving to the web-site soon…
